Payment Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Paying for your Baruru order should be simple and safe. Below you will find the ways you can pay, how your card details are protected and what happens behind the scenes after you press pay. Placing an order means you accept this policy along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Ways to pay
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Which of these you see at checkout can vary with your device, where you are and the size of your order.
An encrypted checkout
From the moment you enter the checkout, everything you type travels over an encrypted TLS/SSL connection. Look for the small padlock next to the web address while you pay.
Card processing
Card payments are handled by payment providers that meet PCI DSS, the security standard the card industry uses to keep cardholder data safe and to fight fraud.
What we can and cannot see
Your full card number is never stored by us. The payment provider passes on only limited information, such as the card type and the final four digits, so that we can match the payment to your order. We do keep billing details like the billing address and transaction number for as long as we need them to fulfil the order, look after you and keep accurate accounts.
Approval by your bank
Each payment has to be approved by the bank or card issuer behind it. Sometimes your bank will ask for an extra step, such as a 3D Secure code or a confirmation in its app, the security code on the back of the card, or an address check. On our side, unusual looking orders may be reviewed to protect customers. When we cannot confirm an order, we may pause or cancel it and refund the full amount, and we will tell you by email.
When a payment does not go through
Double check the card details and the billing address your bank holds, make sure the funds are available, or pick another method. If it still fails, your bank can explain why, and you are welcome to ask us as well.
Currency and when you are charged
Prices on Baruru are shown in Australian dollars (AUD), and the checkout displays the final total before you commit. Your payment is taken at the time you place the order. We do not run subscriptions, repeat charges or hidden fees. If your card is held in another currency, your bank may convert the amount at its own rate and add a fee.
Your bank statement
Look for BARURU on your statement. If a charge looks unfamiliar, get in touch with us before anything else; it is usually quick to explain.
Getting money back
Refunds always go to the method you paid with. We check a return within 3 business days (Monday to Friday) of it reaching our warehouse, and your bank may then take a further 1-7 business days (Monday to Friday) to show the funds. Plan on up to 14 days (10 business days) in total. Our Returns & Refunds Policy sets out every step.
If you disagree with a charge
Please talk to us at support@baruru.com before you open a dispute with your bank. Most problems are solved faster directly with us than through a formal claim.
Sharing of payment information
Your details are shared only as far as needed to complete your order, for instance with payment providers, couriers and our customer service tools, and only in the ways described in our Privacy Policy.
